What is a Soccer IQ test?
A soccer IQ test measures how well you read the game beyond raw pace or a clean first touch — the off-ball movement and rules knowledge that separate a player who understands soccer from one who's just chasing the ball. SpoVote's free Soccer IQ Test — we call it Pitch IQ — is a 10-question multiple-choice quiz built around situations that come up under FIFA's Laws of the Game: when a player in an offside position is actually penalized, how a team should trigger its press off a goal kick, why a coach shifts formation shape when protecting a lead, and how a defense should set its wall on a dangerous free kick. Scoring is difficulty-weighted, not a simple percent-correct. The right answer is yes: under the offside law, a player in an offside position is only penalized for interfering with play, interfering with an opponent, or gaining an advantage from that position — simply standing offside when the ball is played isn't enough if that player has no real involvement in the phase that leads to the goal.
